Ya know, you have a good point. Our society places far too much focus on the negative as oppose to the positive. Now allow me to make another point as to the problem of today's society. The ignorance of today's youth and the seemingly nonchalant manner in tasteless jokes on the issues that SHOULD be considered a joke, but ALWAYS carry with them a crude, crass, and disespectful undertone. I'm glad you guys have enough diversity in your lives to feel that there is no difference in the usage of that attrocious word regardless of ethnicity. However, whether you fail to realize the TRUE meaning of that word, are unastute to the history of it, or simply dont care to know how utterly stupid a word it is is where the problem lies. Its not the word itself where my problem lies, its the fact that people sling it around like a damn freezbee and are totally ignorant to the fact that the word spawns from a time in history when people of color were looked upon as uneducated sub-humans that were worth less than nothing. Whichever ethnicity you may be, its a fact that you dont dont grasp in full the impact to which it has on people. That word, or any other word that degrades a person in a disrespectful manner should be abolished. Because guess what, if you have the gaul the say in the first damn place, the motive of you saying it to begin with is because it will get noticed as a contraversial word. So, now that I actually told you what the word means, whether or not you feel like saying means just as much hilarity as it did to you before is a choice I leave to you. So, with all that said "PEACE NIGGA !!!!" hahahahahahahahahaha !!!!

your argument is a bit flawed. that word, like many words in the english language have come to take on a different meaning over time. language is a progression just like any other art.
True, but thats only because history in regards to our society has turned everyone ignorant and totally unaware as to the world around us. We're far too decadent and concerned with all that which doesnt matter. Detacted from our feelings, and therefore totally incapable of empathizing with others because we can't empathize with ourselves. People who try to say they took that word and turned into to something possitive are full of SHIT. Because they can't even see past the fact that those in power, those that actually matter see the word as something totally different. Anyone with any sense will tell that that word in totally innappropriate in a civil conversation. Now me, though I'm jam packed with sense, will accept it....so long as its funny of course...like how Dave Chappelle uses it. Words compose speech, Speech is the foundation of language, language is the means of communication, and without communication absolutely nothing can be understood or conveyed to anyone. So its never "just" words. For without them we'd all be driven deaf and dumb to any aota of knowledge or human understanding whatsoever.

Yes, but, if say the word FUCK. It's only considered bad because people before us made it taboo. Really though, the word FUCK is completely nothing. It's an F followed by a U followed by a C, ending with a K. If people descided to make the word "Smile" a curse word, and the majority went along with it, and S, followed by an M, followed by an I...(etc.) would then become "BAD" It's just a word.
Out of respect for minorities, I don't use language such as N-----. But I still feel that they are just words. Every word is just a movent of lines and curves. That's it. CRACKER and HONKEY don't phase me. I know it's just a word. People are too sensitive. I have Irish in me, call me a Mick. I have German, call me a Kraut. I have Polish, call me a Dumb Pollock. What about those movement of lines and curves should offend me? Nothing....again, just words. I am who I am and if someone wants to attempt degrading me by using an ethnic slur, I'll let them because I know I am above that. You seem like an intelligent person. You should know that you, as well, are above it.
If I told you to FUCK off at the end of this, you would probably be a little upset (as would most), but you would be upset at my tone I express to you, not at the words I used. So I fail to see the destinction you make. Words are just words, no matter what words they are. The communication is in the thought and diliberance put behind those words. It's not what we say, it's how we say it. You could go years without talking at all, you'd survive. Words actually aren't the basis of communication, Thoughts, actions, and tones are.

Half right, only you got the structure off. Words arent the basis of communication, language is. And off course I would be taken aback by a crass remark by the "tone" of how it sounded. But in this case that plays no part in this disscussion considering the fact we're speaking via internet. I'm not gonna hear a damn thing you say online bro. hahaha. Yes people are overlly sensitive, and hey who knows, maybe so many years have past that words like that should just be taken with a grain of salt. but unfortunetly for those who know better, we take such terms into a different context. Not out anger, or a caustic and hostile rationale, but to really inform people of where such terms spawn from and make sure such phrases are totally understood before they get said at the wrong time and piss somebody off unjustly. And like I said, if the phrase is used funny (I.E. like my boy Dave Chappelle) its all good. Hmm, yes. Knowledge packed craniums...enough to be envious of. Anyway. The re-release is supposed to have the original 9 songs remastered, as well as some unreleased material, I believe, on a second disc...maybe even a video or two.
