i have to be honest, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" could have been a good song if they didn't make the "I chimed in with a haven't you people ever heard of..." the main hook/refrain and if it was mixed less poppy and the singer sang it a little more ballsy and less auto-tune-y. -and if it wasn't so goddamn repetitive.

you know what, i have to admit....i listened to the new album, it's pretty respectable. definitely better than i thought it would be. i give them credit, they actually made a decent record.

i really really like that song. the rest of the album is far too contrived a la the beatles a la beach boys. gg to them on dropping the punctuation and stepping outside their sandbox
i thought the next single Mad as Rabbits was my favorite. I still hate Brandon Urie's voice, and I see your point on it being a little contrived...but yeah, the lack of annoying synth and verses jammed with lyrics designed to sound witty and smart by using "big words" is very welcome.
I'd rather hear this even if the music is a bit contrived than listen to their contrived lyrics on the last record.
PS: if you say contrived more than 3 times in one argument, the word loses all meaning. true story.
