After all my hoping that Trophy Scars plays california I finally find out theres 3 shows i could possibly go to, then I find out im moving to Tennessee this sumer so I only get one show. Sucks but at least i can finally see them
Find a place that you can rent out as a venue most importantly. Around here, they're about $400. Also, find popular local bands to open and a PA (I've got a PA for myself, but a lot of bands will have their own so ask if they have one.) Also allow some money for TS and whoever they're with for gas. (I don't think the Natalie Fight is with them in your area) $150 each is usually what is asked for...
I'm looking at around $900 to put this show together... but then I'll most likely get it all back. I charge about $10 per ticket. I like to keep my ticket prices low because I'm super poor myself.
If you know of a couple venues and a few bands, go ahead and talk to Dan now. He's currently on aim - so ruined. You can also just e-mail him at dan@theartistspreserve.com . Don't worry about having everything definate yet, but you'll need to confirm quickly.

keep in mind people, you don't always need all the money up front unless the venue requires some sort of deposit, which you will get back anyways. you can make the money for rent, paying bands, etc at the door from when you charge admission. 3 keys: 1) confirm the venue and be sure to sign all paperwork and pay deposit if necessary...dont just THINK you have it...MAKE SURE you have it 2) book the local bands in your area that draw the most...make sure one has a PA system or find one to borrow 3) make tons of flyers and post them everywhere, hand them out, and post about the show on your local message boards...get creative!
the first show i ever did was when i was 13 with $100 bucks borrowed from my neighbor and he cosigned with me...a kid last year who was 14 did a show for trophy scars...it's possible and will be the most surefire to get them to come to your town...it's tough to get booked where you want these days as a small band!

1. I want to tag along... I live in Indiana, so we're not tooooo far.
2. All venues require deposits up front around here.
