I'm listening to the Kinison and I was thinking about other bands that I am sad that they broke up. What some of your biggest upsets as far as bands breaking up?
For me: Plans For Revenge The Kinison Ambry Taking Back Sunday (that one totally counts cause they suck without John Nolan...or maybe it should fall under the sellout tragedies... I categorize them under both) Northstar The Beatles

i definitely agree on tbs. saosin is in the same boat, they suck now. maybe my two biggest musical disappointments.
at the drive in was good but so is the mars volta, so i can't decide if im sad they broke up or not.
the same thing with norma jean because i really like both new norma jean and the chariot.
anatomy of a ghost desaparecidos glassjaw (haven't officially called it quits, but everyone knows they aren't ever going to put anything out) monday in london (kicked out their old singer, who was awesome, their new one sucks and they suck now)

gg mucas. the MIL thing really upset me. as did JAw obviously. anatomy too, but we got portugal. which is rape. LYB losing mike and ian probably broke my heart the most out of anything though.

Yeah, it's been all my some of my friends talk about. I should stop hanging out with tuff guys. I listen to indie and Trophy Scars... I have no room to talk.

a pop-punk chorus with a heavier distortion and more chugging (resulting in less chord changes). Typically has an ultra high lead guitar going very slowly with nothing but whole and half notes.

*chug chug, floor punch, pull up bandana, MC Hammer fists, chug chug, chug ieee, air guitar* You know, at one time, I was going to put together a hardcore dance team. Instead of dancing at competitions, we just beat up the other biatches. I still think that idea is golden.

At The Drive-In (I oddly got into them long after they had broken up)
The Movielife
Faith No More
Taking Back Sunday (It ain't the same without good ol deep voiced John. The new guy Fred is okay, but his voice sounds too similiar to Adam's. Dual vocals mean two totally different vocal tonallities).

you have, thus far, used some fairly sophisticated language. -But I'm pretty sure "tonallities" is not a word. ha Grammer aside, I think the problem comes with fred trying to be something he's not. From what I've read, he's well educated in music, so I'll give him that-but he tries to fit his voice to something that he is not (maybe adam) and it just sounds unnatural. It is just very awkward sounding everytime he steps to the microphone. Not to mention the style they changed to is one of more repetition and lame-allity. The sound without John is very "Made for mtv/fuse"

dude its called a spelling error. "Tonalities":A system or an arrangement of seven tones built on a tonic key. My usage of it refering to tones (or pitches) in music. Though it also reffers to the shades in art as well.
At any rate, yeah, new TBS is just a little more difficult to listen to now. Trying to be something he's not...hmm...perhaps. It sort of does seem like he's still getting use to being in the band. But I will give him points for at least being able to pick up where John left off.
