and if you think that makes me closed minded, f-uck off. i have seen a lot of s-hit that i've based my decision on.
e.g.
my formerly straight-edge friend puking and crying in my dorm room for four hours the other night because she got wasted because her boyfriend dumped her...
another girl on my hall who used to be straight edge, until she came to college...she gets trashed at least twice every weekend now...i have been to a few parties with her, and she's f-ucking obnoxious, and a complete whore...and when she is sober, shes the biggest hypocrit i've ever met..."omg you guys, i almost died last night, i'm never drinking again"
my best friend is a straight-up alcoholic. its kinda sad.
i was at a party at my friend's house and this guy decided he was in love with one of the girls...this was a small party and everyone knew each other, so people were like "no way, get hudson away from carrie" so they locked him outside, annnnnnd he thought it was a good idea to BREAK OPEN the front door of the house...that was also the night i realized how much of a complete whore my best female friend at the time was when i found her in the backyard straddling my male best friend who was so drunk he didnt realize where he was
sure, you could argue that its ok to drink in moderation, but no one under 21 really understands what moderation is, and if they say they do, they probably behave like the people i just mentioned...anyway, its my decision, and i don't want to put myself in any of those situations...again, its MY decision for MYSELF...i don't push my ideas on other people, i don't preach, hell, i GO to parties and just chill...
as for pot, f-uck that, it kills more braincells than alcohol, and i enjoy my brain cells, thank you.

im totally against drinking, drinking causes more **** then pot

I used to think sXe was the way to be, then I realized that it shouldn't be about NEVER doing ANYTHING, it should be about making responsible decisions. Let each person do what they want. Just hope and maybe teach the values of being responsible. Not drinking to the point of self destruction, not driving after getting wasted or doing drugs. I don't think it is right to judge others based on their use of drugs/alcohol. That's a main problem with the general straight-edge crowd. They condemn people just because they chose to live their life the way they want to live it. It would be nice if people just stayed out of each other's business. If you're sXe because you want to live a virtuous life or you want to stay clean, more power to you, but i find many kids go sXe for the wrong reasons.
Be who you are, not what an ideology tells you to be.

I drink when I want and I parade around with no clothes on when I want... My personality is the type to get addicted very easily, so I don't smoke cigarettes or try any type of drug. I don't think the straight edge kids are so prejudiced either. All my closest friends are straight edge or not associated with any scene but choose not to do anything because of their values. I respect that.
Anyway, my two biggest vices get to come together this weekend because my friend's throwing a Dress to Get Screwed party.
