Hey everyone! I'm so happy to see people keeping the dialogue up here again! Hahaha and it's not overtly bizarre and inside... which is to say - a huge deterrent to new members (and older relatives of the band; sheeesh, thanksgiving was awkward).
A new song from Darkness, Trazodone, will be posted July 5th to celebrate our independence (from the record industry) and our upcoming tour with ex-Natalie Fight singer, Nigel Silverthorn. I'll post more on that in a separate topic.
Trazodone is a nicely textured song off Darkness. It marks the middle of the record and doesn't really sound like either half - but within context, Trazodone makes perfect sense. Hopefully it holds up nicely as a stand-alone track, as well.
The title was inspired by the anti-depressant sleep medication, Trazodone (well duh). I happened to be taking this drug (with a script, c'mon!) during the blueprinting of Darkness. An unfortunate side effect of the medication are the lucid nightmares you have... that, and, well ...youre sexually ravenous (maybe that one is more fortunate than not). The song was written about a reoccurring nightmare that involved the devil and déjà vu. John assisted in penning the lyrics for the bridge as we were both going through the same problems: insomnia and women. Like always. Ha.

My plan for the morning of the 5th: girlfriend and I waking up, sitting down in our living room, putting headphones on, and listening to "Trazodone." This needs to happen!
I AM SO SORRY! MySpace was acting really weird yesterday for me. This is a consistent problem we've been having so we are now gravitating towards Facebook as our main social networking site. I know. Total pain in the ass. I promise you tomorrow - July 7, 2010 is the official release of Trazodone. We will be sending a press release to indie news sites to announce this as well. We are going to first launch it on Facebook and then take it from there. This is entirely my fault and I should of said something to you all yesterday. Sorry to keep you on a string like this.
Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. I saw Portugal the Man at The Beach on Governors Island on Saturday and it was ridiculous. Those guys are really something else.
@Ever - definitely a headphones listen. @jkk - sorry man, i know you're ahead of US time here so this must feel even more drawn out @chaz - good idea for a marketing ploy! except, i would hate to loose you as friends.
